Panoramic Light: The Art of Hansen Mulford

This solo exhibition features the studio work of Hansen Mulford, offering a rare look into the personal artistic vision of one of Central Florida’s most respected arts professionals. Widely recognized for his 40-year tenure as Chief Curator at the Orlando Museum of Art, Mulford played a pivotal role in shaping and elevating Central Florida’s visual arts community.

This exhibition, his first solo show at Crealdé School of Art, turns the spotlight toward his own creative journey—presenting a body of work that complements his curatorial legacy with quiet resonance and artistic depth.

Emerge: New Works by 3D & Photography Fellowship and Studio Artists

October 2–January 10, 2027

This biennial exhibition showcases new work by artists in Crealdé’s Fellowship and Studio Artist Programs—residency-style opportunities that provide teaching experience, mentorship, and studio access. Participants are selected through a competitive process and work in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and photography.

The 2026 edition highlights the diverse practices and conceptual directions developed over the course of each artist’s time on campus. In addition to advancing their studio work, many artists contribute to Crealdé’s educational mission, creating a reciprocal environment that fosters both individual and community growth.

Tasanee Durrett: Sacred Vessels: Healing and Memory in the Black Diaspora

September 4–December 13, 2026

Orlando-based multidisciplinary artist Tasanee Durrett presents this exhibition examining the intersection of healing and identity within the Black Diaspora. Drawing from her architectural background, Durrett creates abstract figurative works that blend human forms with botanical elements, crafting a visual language that connects ancestral wisdom with psychological restoration.

Her mixed-media works investigate how environmental knowledge intertwines with mental wellness and cultural identity, focusing on the neck and head as sacred vessels of memory.

Through techniques of pointillism and one-line painting, vibrant flora and architectural elements serve as symbols of resilience, while intricate linework bridges the built environment, natural world, and human consciousness. Each piece advocates for a return to ancestral knowledge as a pathway to contemporary healing.

43rd Annual Summer ArtCamp Exhibition

This vibrant exhibition showcases over 400 young artists, ages 4–17, who participate in Crealdé’s Summer ArtCamp.

Individual and collaborative works in ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, and mixed media reflect the energy of Crealdé’s creative studios and lakeside campus. ArtCamp has nurtured young talent since 1982 and invites the community to celebrate imagination, joy, and discovery.

The Hannibal Square Heritage Center deepens its understanding of oral history and cultural preservation. Now in its 21st edition, the Storytellers Project empowers youth through creative expression and community documentation.

Powerful Portraits and Living Legacies from Winter Park’s Historic African American Community

Join us for the opening reception of The Sage Project Phase III: Hannibal Square Elders Tell Their Stories Friday, September 19, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.
Free and open to the public, this compelling exhibition marks the latest chapter in a 13-year project honoring the long-standing residents of Winter Park’s historic African American west side.

Now in its third installment, the exhibition adds newly created portraits to a collection of 42 powerful environmental photographs captured between 2012 and 2025. Each portrait preserves the face and story of a community pillar, building a living archive of the people who helped shape Hannibal Square across generations.

This year’s milestone includes the first-ever portraits of Chief Historian Fairolyn H. Livingston and Docent Historian Mary R. Daniels. These two women have spent decades documenting the stories of others. Their inclusion marks a poignant moment in the project’s arc—recognizing not only those who have shaped the neighborhood but also those who have tirelessly preserved its history.

Award-winning documentary photographer Peter Schreyer created the portraits using vintage film cameras and traditional darkroom techniques. Each image is taken with natural light and printed by hand using archival processes, making every portrait a lasting and deeply personal tribute.

Launched in 2007 and first exhibited in 2012, the Sage Project is a collaborative effort of the Hannibal Square Heritage Center team—Livingston, Daniels, and Schreyer—whose decades of oral history collection, community leadership, and storytelling continue to bring to life the cultural fabric of Winter Park’s African American heritage.

Peter Schreyer: Small Stories From a Big Country

Covering four decades, the Swiss American documentary photographer shares black and white images from his favorite Central Florida communities, his Swiss home town, beloved News Mexico and recent travels across America. All photographs were created with vintage film cameras; all are archival, silver gelatin prints, hand-made in his wet darkroom at Crealdé School of Art.

Peter Schreyer is an internationally exhibited photographer who has documented America’s cultural landscape for over four decades. He has received a wide range of public art commissions, research grants and recognition awards, including a Visual Arts Fellowship from the State of Florida, for his black-and-white photography on Florida, which often pays tribute to its marginalized communities.

In 2005-2006, Schreyer was honored with a major retrospective exhibition titled Small Stories From A Big Country at the Swiss Camera Museum in Vevey, Switzerland. In 2015, following his solo exhibition Returning Home at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College, Winter Park, a collection of his Central Florida works was purchased for the museum’s prestigious Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art. His photographs are on permanent display in several local public art collections, including the cities of Winter Park, Orlando, Winter Garden, as well as Volusia and Orange counties.

Peter Schreyer served as Crealdé’s long-time Executive Director from 1995-2024 and led the founding of the Hannibal Square Heritage Center in Winter Park in 2007. He continues to serve as the Photography Program Manager and as a Senior Faculty Member, leading master class documentary photography projects, including The Las Vegas Project: Contemporary Life on the Historic Santa Fe Trail, which is currently traveling in New Mexico. He is committed to the traditional film process, both in his own photography and in teaching all levels of silver-based photographic and darkroom techniques.

As a cornerstone of Crealdé’s America250 celebration, American Mosaic explores the evolving story of American identity through a variety of media. Presented across three galleries, the exhibition weaves together themes of place, memory, culture, and belonging. Featuring Crealdé faculty, fellows, studio artists, and scholarship recipients, as well as UCF Jenkins Scholars and storytellers from across Central Florida, the show amplifies underrepresented voices and reflects the nation’s diverse creative landscape. A collaborative community ceramic mosaic will serve as a lasting symbol of unity and inclusion.

In partnership with national and regional arts organizations, American Mosaic includes outreach, education, and public programming honoring the power of art to elevate stories and connect people across generations.

This celebratory exhibition marks Crealdé’s 50th Anniversary, featuring a curated selection of works by current and former faculty in painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media. These works reflect the school’s enduring values of artistic excellence, cultural expression, and mentorship.

The exhibition traces Crealdé’s evolution from its founding in 1975 to its current role as a nationally recognized center for community-based arts education. It also honors the organization’s deep-rooted commitment to preserving and amplifying diverse community narratives—work that has expanded Crealdé’s impact far beyond the studio walls.
