Art Is For Everyone

Crealdé uses the visual arts as a means of connecting communities, fostering cultural awareness and promoting understanding.

As part of its mission, Crealdé’s outreach programming sustains an unwavering commitment to serve every community we enter. Our outreach and scholarship programs emphasize working with underprivileged children, at-risk teens, and low-income senior citizens. Each class or project introduces the student to the specific art medium, then, through a public exhibition or installation, shares the participants’ achievements with the whole community.

Every week, Crealdé instructors lead hands-on art classes for children and seniors at John H. Bridges Community Center in South Apopka, the Maxey Community Center in Winter Garden, and the Hannibal Square Heritage Center in west Winter Park. In addition, special public art projects in photography, sculpture and mural painting target disadvantaged youth and at-risk teens to offer community-building art experiences that leave a permanent installation in the participants’ neighborhoods.

In the last 10 years, Crealdé has had over 50 successful community partnerships with local government and other not for profit organizations in the arts, humanities, and social services. Collaborations such as those with the City of Winter Park, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida, the Farmworkers Association of Florida, and Tajiri School of Performing Arts have led to numerous award winning art classes, traveling exhibitions and permanent public art installations.
